Moving Love – One World Theatre 9/5/08
The Moving Love experience is about healing every separation to remain connected forever by standing in love, open to the mystery that is Life. There is no opposite to life, and death is not the end.
On September 5th, 2007, Davis Armistead died, initiating a Spirit journey for his mother, Suzanne, and father, David, through which they have been carried on the wings of love through death, across separation, and into transformation and union. This true story was presented in Moving Love, a healing performance given Friday, Sept 5th, 2008, in Austin’s One World Theater, to a full capacity audience, with the volunteer help and artistic collaboration of some of Austin’s finest theatrical, musical and digital media talent.
Playing at Austin’s fabulous One World Theater, and employing new concepts of “art for healing,” the Moving Love performance enacted the true story of the return to union, following the apparent separation of death, by making the shift from fear to love, connecting with loved ones in life and death by choosing love over all considerations, judgments and pre-conceptions. The Moving Love experience of grief and transformation was presented through a creative montage of improvisational movement and narration given by Suzanne Armistead, narrations by David Armistead, live choral performances from Austin’s own Hildegirls with Susan Lincoln, live original music from the Russel D Band featuring Russell Forsyth, Arron Michaels, and a guest appearance by Craig Toungate, live crystal bowl performances by Russell Forsyth, and also digital media coordination by Maggie Duval, and stage management and action cueing and coordination by Craig Toungate and Becky Forsyth – all given in love and rememberance of Davis and as an expression of art that heals, to bring lightness and illumination into places of darkness regarding grief and death.

“Thank you for the gift you gave us all last night. I awoke thinking about the performance and the incredible warmth I felt when we all put our hands up and you guys came to everyone and we all felt the love. Astounding! I was bursting with love… I just kept saying to myself – Miraculous.” Love, Sharon
